Now...I know that this isn't anime, so I'll just call it a MV. I was thinking, what about using a video capture card, and recording oneself playing a video game, in this case, SSX Tricky, and then taking the theme song to that game, "Its Tricky" by Run DMC, and remaking a MV to it. It might be done already, but I can see it now... ^(*o*)^ You can turn off all the GUI interface, or just go to the replay edit mode, and redord yourself playing the game, and then just shove that into Adobe, and make a MV. What do ya think?? And when I'm done with this one, the next one will be to GTA Vice City, and I will use an old 80's song for it, maybe "Girls Rock The Boys." Maybe... yeah...just think....this could start a whole new genre of MVs, or maybe not...lol...maybe It'll just flop as I think it will.

Well it's not quite the same thing, but my current amv project does indeed come from playing too much SSX Tricky. I am in the process of making an meta anime music video where I remix other music videos into a cohesive whole. Hopefully it will suck as much as I'm trying to make it.
But back to your original concept. It might be worth checking out the old version of Dancing with Myself done to FF8+FFX. I seem to remember there being some game footage in that one, but it was mostly cut scenes. Though to extend this concept a bit, it'd also be neat to use everyone's favorite trandy technique composting to get mutiple characters from multiple games interacting. Granted at that point, it's prolly easier to find a way to rip out the character models out of the games, and animate them yourself....

hm...yuo may be right...but my plan is have my friend T-Money (don't ask) spend the night...and we are just gonna use video in/out on my video card and capture footage of us playing straight to my computer...and then shove that into VirtualDUB...to reincode it (if needed) and then that game footage...and the cut scenes (there is a nifty program that can get and rip those fast and easily) and then put it all together...
if that makes any sense...
