I was definitely expecting this to go on for waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay longer than it should have. But it didn't. We're cool! And good at not going off into crazy tangents!Otohiko wrote:Dude, I missed this being released.
The final product is pretty cool! I'm really surprised how long this actually went on, but yeah, on listening, I have to say we did a good job of keeping on topic. Fun watching/listening to this.

There were actually a couple in there (talking about cons and watching piiiii's "End") but my 1337 editing skillz saved it.

Well, certainly seems like you had fun. I'd like to join sometime
Also, about The Answer - "This looks like something Kosmit could've done." I laughed hard at that part. Cause it's true

Re: AMV Review - Episode 1 "Needs More Twitch"
As a first time doing reviews in this format a lot of the messing around is excused and even welcome to break the ice a little. Once the group gets into the meat of the reviews it seems like nobody really understands what they're supposed to point out though. I'd recommend writing up a bunch of base guidelines and key points for the fellow reviewers to watch out for. I might also be just coming at it from a completely different angle with different expectations on what a review should be though. Criticism aside. I really enjoyed it though and the fact that you show the video as well as have it on loop really helps bring the points reviewers are making across. There were some interesting points made that I'm hoping will be more deliberately worded in future episodes. I felt like reviewers were holding back a little, possibly afraid of backlash. If criticism or a opinion is constructive then it should never be watered down.
Oh and it's chromatic aberration btw

Re: AMV Review - Episode 1 "Needs More Twitch"
Btw, one thing that I think was crucial here was variety of videos. I actually was the one who suggested two of the videos that were a little 'out there' (The Answer and Slice of Life), with the specific goal of trying to step away from more action- and effects-oriented videos and talk about other things too, like just reading things into the story of the video or the whole idea of what makes a good comedy vid. And I think the changes of pace did keep it interesting. Twitch and stuff like that is fun to talk about, but it's great when things like concepts, category definitions, or "why this is funny" and other such stuff also get into the discussion - talking about techniques and editing and twitch is cool and all, but it's great to NOT do that sometimes. I hope that for future podcasts (whether or not I'm in them), we keep this tradition of varying things a bit - IMO talking about very different kinds of videos really helped keep this interesting and unpredictable.
