.. many just want to learn "how to edit" and "that" is not taught -nor is it available "here"!!

It was not Phade's intention to "teach editing" .. .. what he wanted was cleaner
starts and finer lines ( another-words; clean, sharp, de-interlaced and .. compacted video's. )

.. the DVD ripping and usage solved 99.9% of the errors people had while editing and final
encoding; the other 00.019999% of the errors usually came from poor syncing of Audio.

.. What you may not be aware of are the Editors that we had available to us before 2002.
MicroSoft even had a cut & join -free- editor that you could download that saved in .avi format.
( yeah; I've been here that long! ) .. anyone remember Reveal TV-500 capture cards and its editor?
.. now THAT was a nightmare T_T .. or how about only having VFW-1.1e for codec's X_X .. .. 'nuff said!

This board was originally put together to Correct the People who "knew that They Needed To Be Corrected"
and we had some of the finest Encoders and Pranksters the world has ever known "hanging around on this board."
? are they still around here today?? .. nope; they don't like snob's!

.. If you want to learn from Utube then "do so" .. if you want to learn to do things "right" then
where can you go? .. to me, this board made one mistake: they first settled for Adobe Primeire 5.0
and totally ignored there being any other "Editor" made ( or to even have been considered as an Editor. )
I now understand "what they were after" back then!! The times were right, all those years ago, to start finding
a Video Editor which "could edit" in "more that just 4:3 images." With "Vandread" being Plasma cut and not 4:3,
everybody wanted to know where to find and how to use such a concept editing design.

.. Today, all editors can work with 1440p; we've come a long-long way. Codec's that allow MPEG encoding
under .AVI containers, multi-audio constructions ( .MP4 ) and multi-Video + multi-Subbling + multi-Audio's
in Variable-Timing-Rates ( .MKv ) plus many many other things not thought possible 5 years ago. Today we
have all "this" technology available to anyone who wants it and Utube can teach us how to use it .. right???

.. .. you have no idea what you've got here. .. .. you have no concept of who you've let teach here.
.. .. times are not tuffer anywhere on this world then the people making things impossible to accomplish anything here!
its all up to you.

I beg to differ - we still have quite a lot of members who delve into technical stuff deeply and share their knowledge with others (Zarx, mirko, MisterHatt, etc)

The thing about my view of the Org is that it's nice but all the reception I've gotten from the Org has been overly critical and somewhat negative, not that I don't take good criticism, it just seems that people tend to be overly critical.

man nobody watches my crap on youtube.
I get nothing. (except for the videos of mine other people uploaded)
so... you have a youtube account?
btw, about the article, some things came to my mind:

-this site is only for "MasterPieces", that idea is really set in the mind of A LOT of editors and that´s kind of sad I guess-

-most of the people don´t care about anything, speaking of amv, things like sync, quality, codecs, bla bla are just too annoying, some people only care about fun, and they are entertained with any shit-
Spoiler :

They main problem is when you watch shit as shit and you tell them.

-the world is full of weird people-
SING! Never mind the words!!!

Actually that happens in my country. The WMM amvs are very popular here, so every time I use AAE, I feel discouraged when the people doesn't notice the moments I efforted to edit, and instead enjoy the RAW moments.

Not all the time the YouTube feedback is positive, or useful, I mean, reading the word Awesome is not going to improve my editing, it feels good to read it from time to time, but I'm an enemy of brainless comments. That's why there are a lot of YouTubers that already believe they're on top when they are still far away from it.

Obviously receiving a massive acclamation in all the anime fests here is something different, the feeling of seeing people enyojing your AMV is the best prize you can receive :D

Where did people get the idea that this place has a high bar or is taken with a modicum of seriousness? Look at some of the smilies we use, seriously.

ps doki - if I make some My Little Pony smilies will you add them
