Just saying the underlying problem is that horror and comedy just have opposing effects on people and overall just don't mix well. Your talk of dark humor made me think of "Happy Tree Friends" for some reason. Not a movie just funny flash stuff, actually they have made a movie now for all I know. Google it some time.Qyot27 wrote:Actually, horror/comedy is more or less better described as extremely dark humor (or Dead Baby Comedy, or other related tropes - Crosses The Line Twice, Gallows Humor, Refuge In Audacity, Sliding Scale of Comedy and Horror). Movies can get away with this because they have a much longer time to set up; doing it in a music video would definitely be a lot harder if you wanted to do anything else than very quick jokes (a la AMV Hell - which does have its fair share of extremely dark segments in the X-rated ones, but on the whole really isn't).EvaFan wrote:Honestly though, doing a horror/comedy mines well be like trying to do two opposite things at the same time... cause comedy and horror have just totally different emotions/moods/etc... Best you could do is to just slap a horror source with a comedy like source together like in the vids mentioned so far which completely defeats the horror aspect at that point leaving only the comedy IMO.

"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

You could always look for a Higurashi AMV. Most people seem to put comic ideas to bloody gore XD
