Hi! First post ^_^

[Hero of Avalon]

Well, since this is my first message on this board, I suppose this would be an okay place to introduce myself (since I didn't see a board specifically for that). My name is Matthew, but most people--my friends especially--call me Raze, because that's the name I took when I first started with the Internet. I'm an anime, manga, and AMV enthusiast to the core, and I've watched/read several of the "instant classics" like Haruhi, Lucky Star, Mai HiME & Otome, even some DBZ, when I can stand it long enough. XD

My manga collection's my primary focus at the moment, though I've certainly not neglected picking up a few reasonably-priced box sets when I can find them. I'm like most guys--I enjoy a good action anime with cute girls, explosions, and gunfights. Don't even think for a second though, that I don't appreciate a sweet, heartfelt romance. Heck, I'll even say that I sometimes look for romance where there's none to be had (or you have to squint to see it).

I've even picked up a few shippings to follow while on the way, my favorite being either Kagami/Konata (Lucky Star), or Shizuru/Natsuki (Mai HiME/Otome).

...What? Don't look at me like that! They're cute pairings! Who cares if they're all girls?

Aside from anime, I enjoy computer games more than the Xbox or Wii anymore. Once in awhile I'll traipse back to the consoles for a few rounds of Gears of War or Street Fighter, but for the most part, games like Supreme Commander and Crysis and Neverwinter Nights have taken their place.

Well...anyway, this is the "Suggestions" board, right? So, I guess I should start getting to my suggestion then. Now, to start off, I don't expect any replies really. The anime I've chosen is pretty obscure and not exactly a majority of the community has heard of it, much less seen it.

Blue Drop. Heard of it? It's one of those interesting sci-fi/romance/tragedy crossovers, and in a way, could kinda be for those Star Wars fans who felt that George Lucas can't write a heartfelt scene to save his life (and he can't). It tells the tale of an expedition force that's been sent to Earth as a preliminary for invasion. One alien has even taken up a spot in human society as a high school student, learning about society, history, and such, blending perfectly with the rest of her students, until a person from her past shows up.

This is kind of an anime you need to watch past the first few episodes to start to truly appreciate--it does start kind of slow, but it picks up after a little bit. Honest. =3

Then the song: Well, there aren't many good romance songs that haven't been used to death yet, save for a few Japanese ones that no one understands what they mean. I was hoping for a bit of a discussion, revolving around a song choice~ *fingers crossed* Won't hold my breath though.
