Looking for a sad, uplifting song

Post by Chaobunny12 » Mon Jan 26, 2009 7:24 pm

Basically what the title says. I want a song that sounds pretty and sad, but is also uplifting. If it helps at all, the anime I'm using is Air.

Check into the group: "Vanilla Ninja"

If i had to recommend one of their songs... I couldn't recommend just one so here's few:
Spirit Of The Dawn
Pray
Light of Hope <= this song is amazing but needs more animes to benefit it then just AIR. Multisource amv. http://tinyurl.com/cwnh9r
Sugar and Honey <= might be difficult for AIR tho.
The Coldest Night

There are others that might work for you... like i said its too hard to pick. I strongly sugguest atleast giving the group a look tho.
"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

Someone should use "You be the anchor that keeps my feet on the ground, I'll be the wings that keep your heart in the sky" by Mayday Parade

I think it would be a perfect match for AIR =]
I'm going to go home and play with my Duck!

Why not try a song by Five For Fighting? Superman is a bit sad, but The Riddle and 100 Years are beautiful songs.

"Nightswimming" by R.E.M., off the album "Automatic For the People".

Nightswimming deserves a quiet night
The photograph on the dashboard, taken years ago,
Turned around backwards so the windshield shows
Every streetlight reveals the picture in reverse
Still, it's so much clearer
I forgot my shirt at the water's edge
The moon is low tonight

Nightswimming deserves a quiet night
I'm not sure all these people understand
It's not like years ago,
The fear of getting caught,
Of recklessness and water
They cannot see me naked
These things, they go away,
Replaced by everyday

Nightswimming, remembering that night
September's coming soon
I'm pining for the moon
And what if there were two
Side by side in orbit
Around the fairest sun?
That bright, tight forever drum
Could not describe nightswimming

You, I thought I knew you
You, I cannot judge
You, I thought you knew me,
This one laughing quietly underneath my breath
Nightswimming

The photograph reflects,
Every streetlight a reminder
Nightswimming deserves a quiet night, deserves a quiet night
