Cutting Scenes

Post by Jas113 » Thu Nov 14, 2002 9:55 pm

Hey! i just wanted to ask about how everybody got all their scenes for their AMVS. I have trouble w/ large series because i rip the dvd and then load into huffy and just go through the dvd and pick scenes and output to huffy. The only prob is that it take FOREVER. anybody have some more efficient ways of doing this. Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, programs like DVD2AVI will let you go through your VOB files and convert only the scenes you want. At least, that is what I attempted when I first tried to remaster my Akira video before my hard drive died. I'll never know if it worked until I try again!

It should also be feasible to hook up a MiniDV camcorder and record what scenes you want directly off DVD.

I only capture to my computer what I absolutley need. So before any capturing is done I know exactly which scenes I want to use so I only capture that plus some extray scenes taht I think may come in handy in one way or another.

I just rip all the DVDs I know I'll need, make D2Vs for them, follow the MJPEG -> AVS guide and edit with low quality MJPEGs of each full episode, and then when I'm done, I switch the MJPEGs for the AVISynth (AVS) files.
