What To Do With...

So... I've been making AMVs for a little while now(7 months or so) and currently, my video editor is Windows Movie Maker. Its not the best, but I'm switching to Vegas ASAP, and I need to know how to deal with sections of guitar that don't really give you much to do... an example would be the opening five seconds of Kamelot's "When The Lights Go Down".

I'm trying to cook up something big for my final three AMV projects, but dealing with those sections is hard, since I like to exploit any part of the song I can with my limited tools.

ShakingHeart, when editing with something you're referring to, it's important to focus more on content, mood, and emotion. Since you're limited on tools such as Windows Movie Maker, it would be best to focus on simple editing rather than complex editing.
Guitar riffs such as the one you're referring to don't offer a lot of provocative ideas to a lot of editors. My suggestion will be to focus more on content rather than stylized editing.
What's the anime and song your using btw?

Indeed first 5 seconds of when the lights are down would be good for some good kind of intense thing. Don't needs cuts and stuff. a dramatic scene to hit it off or add to the video would prolly be fine. depending on what you do

The Anime is Rockman.EXE, actually. I'm a big Rockman and Naruto fan, so expect a lot of those AMVs from me.

Thanks for the help. I'm building the entire AMV around the movie, so I'm even more limited to clips... but I think I've got the opening down.

And if only I could have found the edit button... I mistakingly posted this topic twice and meant to say "Final three WMM AMVs". <.<;
