A couple of odd ideas

Post by MPHopcroft3 » Mon Aug 06, 2007 10:23 am

I've never made AMVs, but I've been associated with people who do so I have some idea how the process works. But what I'm wondering is how to go about getting a couple of ideas into fruition.

1. I have come to adore the recent series Hidamari Sketch and become an ardent advocate of the Sae/Hiro pairing. I'm trying t think of a suitable song for it, but a video about those two would be lovely.

2. I'm pretty sure Sayonara Zaiboutsu-sensei videos are going to be coming out any day now. It's a show that a lot of people are saying is really funny, despite being in about the worst taste imaginable. (It's a school harem comedy in which a suicidal teacher, who is trying to drag his class down into the pits of despair with him, suddenly finds that he is irresistibly attractive to those among his female students who are also completely and utterly psychotic -- a discovery that he finds absolutely terrifying). I'm thinking there are all sorts of songs that would be hilariously incongruous to do AMVs to this series for; like Elton John's "Someone Saved my Life Tonight" or Queen's "Who Wants to Live Forever" (and how incredibly tasteless would THAT combination be, given that the song was Freddy Mercury, asked to write a film score but secretly dying from HIV infection, writing about accepting his own mortality?) Or, to plumb the depths of bad taste even further, Nirvana's "Lithium" (because who knew more about self-annihilation than Kurt Cobain, for whom it was his life-long ambition?)
