Oh, come now. You know it's not that simple. There have been better and lengthier analyses of this effect, with one of the best done by Kai Stromler somewhere in mists of the past.

An interesting proposition, but I doubt it would be significantly different.

And make multiple accounts to retaliate with nasty quick comments and opinions with all 1s.

The vca's are kind of like a spam, baloney, velveeta cheese (the whole big block of it, half melted) and tuna sandwich.

Not great ingredients to begin with,

Takes way too long to digest,

Doesn't come out well :/

The VCAs rawk, and the masses are always right. Learn that and you shall be happy.

Not only has it happened, it happened enough times that the admins changed things so each account would have to download a video to op it. The sole reason for that change is to combat op abuse. Personally I think they should have just set it so all 10 and all 1 ops don't contribute to the average score then not tell anyone they did that. Let the ignorant make all the all 1 ops they want, they won't affect anything and they won't realize they aren't affecting anything.

I'm sure you also have the people who encourage their friends to join and rank their latest videos.

"LIEK OMG YOUR INUYASHA VID IS TEH BEST!!!111111one"

At least Youtube has become a magnet for the shittiest videos.

People don't like to think that they're average. Though, statistically speaking, most of them are. Otherwise intelligent people find it really hard to grasp that most people suck and there's not much you can do about it.

They may also have that "you're a beautiful and unique snowflake and anyone who disagrees with your genius is just jealous" syndrome going on. Particularly if they're young and life hasn't knocked a couple of dents in their egos yet.

...that's kind of a sidetrack. They are also reasons that people bitch about the VCAs, though. IMO.
