That's the case for me sometimes, thing is since I enjoy editing it's not so bad once I actually sit myself down and start working. It's taht first job of just starting that's a pain in the ass.Prodigi wrote:I think it's more of a case that once we get through all our other distractions, work, and school commitments, and we finally have spare time, the last thing on our minds is editing, because we just want to go nuts in the short space of free time we have.Otohiko wrote:Though I think it's true for a lot of people that downtime = being burned out on editing, in my case (and I'm not alone in this), downtime is 5% being burned out, 10% school/work, and 85% my other hobbies and distractions.

Re: Down Time
The Wired Knight wrote:Just curious, what is everyone's typical downtime between AMVs? How long do you go after completing one AMV before you start working on another? And also why do you wait as long or as short as you do?
I typically wait about two to three weeks before I start working on another video, however this is during my editing period where I make three videos back to back. After that there is an off period of about 6 months where I don't make any videos, it's based on deadlines and the need for a break here.
Lol, I don't have any scheduled down time really... I just make one when i feel like making one. Even if i have a request, i still wont start working on it unless i feel like it.
I would say i probably average about 5 AMVs per year + or - yeah know..
