Simcity 4

Post by bttws » Wed Jan 08, 2003 3:25 pm

If anyone is intrested, simcity 4 comes out at the begining of next week. I've played all the simcity games and have been looking foward to this a long time, personally I think that the simcity line is much better the the sims line even though it makes a lot more money. If you get a chance check out some screenshots, they are amazing, it sure has come a long way. http://www.simcity.com

anyone else going to be going to be buying a copy?

I very well might be. I haven't been playing PC games much lately, but if there were one I'd buy, it's that or one of the Sims games.

I started my PC life with SimCity... so why not end it that way? :D

I think they need to release a multi player version ov SimCity. Kinda like they did with the Sims only better. I think they made a version fo SC2k that was able to do that but i can't remember.

that was SimCity 2000: Network Addtion, it flopped big time. From what I hear Maxis is developing some kind of multiplayer options, but i am not sure exactly what it is....

This is a way to play multiplayer in simcity4 with out any addons, but not in realtime. You build several citys in a region, and they work together. you and a friend build difernent citys and e-mail upadted city every once and a wile. but you won't be able to just jump into a online game like most. Hopefully Maxis makes a addon or update.

I would buy it since I'm a geography guy and love the urban planning aspect of Sim City, yet...sigh...my roommate convinced me to start playing Dark Age of Camelot for some reason and I have a month's subscription. Might as well use it up before investing in another game right off.

Yeah I know. But my PC game life was ruined with Diablo II and putting up with such idiotic people on Battle.net. Other games, I haven't had such bad luck with... but none have really interested me. Shooters were really fun, but when you're as bad as I am it gets old after a while.

Maybe some game will catch my interest though. I think one of the main things was that I'd play games for hours straight and I'd enter a hermit-like trance and refuse contact with anyone. Yeah... those were the days. :D

I think I'll just goad my brother into buying it, and then I'll convince him he doesn't like it so he gives it to me.

my brother is suuuch a sim city fanatic...he's still playing sim city 300 ever since it came out. I personally don't think much of the game. My city usually dies down, and then I get all pissed and kill everyone with massive earthquakes and hurricanes MUAHAHAHAHAHAH!
