Well, I have a small delema. You see, I am (as most of you know) currently in Japan as a foreign exchange student. Thats part one of the problem. Part two is something really great, my dad sent me 600 US dollars in yen the day before yesterday and told me to go nuts, and that he didnt care what I bought with it, it was for fun. Ok, now your thinking to yourself, whats wrong with this picture? Your in Japan, you have money, what could possibly be the matter? Well, its just that, I have all this money, and only one chance to spend it in Japan. So you tell me, if you were in my shoes, what would you buy? Is it some snazzy region 2 DVD player, or maybe some awsome ragion 2 DVDs currently unavailible in America? Im going to Akihabara tomarow, one of the biggest technology cities in Japan, I can buy a funky robodog that I can train. I can buy hentai manga, or anything, especially because Ill be attending "Comiketto" (the largest comic convention in Japan), during which I intend to pick up fat stacks of belldandy hentai. Anyway, what would you do?

Go with what you know your consience would say if you hadn't killed it 3 years ago "Buy gifts for other people.....share...."

You could mail nice gifts back to your parents (probably not DVD's) and try to think of some great gifts to leave with your host family. Not to say spend it all on gifts, but it's a very nice gesture that leaves a lasting impression. Either save a portion for that, or buy the gifts first. Giving is a great feeling, worth much more than the money that it uses up

Just give it some thought.

no, but honestly, Ive already bought a butload of gifts for everyone (authentic looking paper lanterns for mom and dad, English childrens books for my host siblings, a Yuukata (kimono type thing) for my little sister
