*Surround Sound On Computer!*
I already know that the flexibility of Windows Media, the defacto standard for internet streaming audio and video, let's you use a variety of Surround Sound formats....
Now are there any drivers that allow you to use multiple sound cards as stereo?
If not, I am going to write one as I am not going to go and buy a Stereo Blaster just to watch Vision of Escaflowne in DTS/Dolby Digital 7.1

Heh...
My cousin got this really wierd thing for his comp. It's two long poles that stick out from the comp desk. There's a speaker at the end of each one. The poles extend to the side of you making the speakers behind your head. With the addition of your regular speakers, I guess this could be considered "surround sound". It reall worked too. In a shoot-em-up game, if someone was shooting him from behind, the sound would come out of the speakers behind his head. It looked wierd, but the effect of it was cool.

I don't think that you can use 2 simple Stereo Blasters as one Surround Blaster. It just wouldn't work, because 2 Stereo's don't make a Dolby ^_^
I would recommend buying a cheap, non-brand, Sound Blaster. I paid about 50 Bucks for my Surround Blaster, and it works oh so well! There's also an extra Jinch plug for the subwoofer. Woohoo!
Peace out,

well.. I wouldn't call it defacto.. and RA has surround support, and so does aac/mp4 which will by far soon be the standard if it follows in mpeg1's footsteps
