I was watching Mortal Kombat on my comp the other day when my Japanese roomate asked me "What is that?" I said Mortal Kombat. He replied what? I almost choked on my drink like are you serious? I repeated Mortal Kombat and he still had no clue. I even loaded p an emulator showing Mortal Kombat 1-3 and he swears up and down he has never seen it before. He didn't know Scropion or SubZero!

You were watching Mortal Kombat? That was a great movie. It had almost everything! But I didn't like the 2nd movie, Annihilation. I felt it was just weird and what was with killing Johnny Cage in the first minutes?!?

Yeh. The first Mortal Kombat movie kicked major ass, but the 2 sequals sucked all! I mean, in the first movie, Raiden (Christopher Lambert) was soo cool, and really godlike, but in the second movie they changed him for some Kung-Fu look-a-like (not that that's a bad thing in general, it just doesn't fit Raiden).
I too never got it, why they let Johnny Cage die in the very first minutes of the second movie. He didn't even have a honorable fighers death. Just plain cheap!
