What media player and skin do you use?

Post by Anime Jedi » Sat Nov 23, 2002 5:36 pm

We all know there are many and many different media players out there, but which one do you use? And to go along with that, what stylish skin do you use?

I use the Windows Media player right now. I used to be a Real One Player fan, but I was having trouble with .AVI vids, so I just changed. I use the new 9 series, and I'm so glad too. I never really liked the old one, but the new one rocks.

My skin is one of the default ones, "Corporate". I definitely prefer this one, since it's so compact and focusses on the visual. Plus it's nice and simple. Others that prefer the look and have teh folder options and other stuff just take up too much room. I can't afford that, since I'm always doing something else. ^_^

Zoom Player, "ultra minimalist" skin.

You can switch the timeline on/off by pressing the space bar. Great prog.

And that's the most useful option :

Windows Media Player classic for video (often) and Windows Media formats(rarely), and Winamp for audio. Light and simple programs.

Any video player that requires a skin means they're spending too much time on being fancy and not enough time on working... like every single M$ media player 7 and up.

Indeed. With media players, the KISS principle is the best.

Maybe so, but you wouldn't want to use a media player that you found it very inconvinient to use the buttons like play and all. Not to mention, having to look at it as much as we do. I know I would like something nice too use especially with the amount of time I spend using one.

Anyways, did you actually mean requires a skin? Because I don't think the full mode is an actual skin, though I may be wrong. And if I'm wrong, then isn't any covering for a media player considered some sort of skin?
