Suggestions Please-(Australia)

I have dial-up for till the end of October then I will be changing over to cable...I am going to set up my server then will host sites...
What I would like to know is what Australians on here think of Optus, Bigpond or any other choices available?

WARNING! The following post contains prices tha may baffle DSL users in the United States, but this is what we have to live with.

Telstra is just awful
Optus will screw you over with bandwidth restrictions

Don't go cable... (there is a reason for this but I can't put my finger on it) ADSL all the way.

Your best options are

$199.95/month, 1500k down 256k up, 8000Mb bandwidth
$134.95/month, 512k down 128k up, 8000Mb bandwidth

Iprimus have a 20Gb plan, but you'll be paying upwards of $420 a month

God damnit that's alot of money

Well actually $200 AUS = $109.23 USD. The problem is that 8GB is horrid. You can download 12GB in one month on a 56K. It's just boggling how these companies expect people to pay so much for such a jip.

That's why I still use a 56K plan. Which offers unlimited bandwidth (until they find out how much of it I eat up a month)

wow, I feel sorry for you. If you want stuff hosted though you can go here for a reasonable cost http://hostrocket.com/products/shared.htm. That's unfortunate that it you have to pay that much and have so many restrictions.
