Fraternaties and sorarities

Post by angelx03 » Sun Sep 14, 2003 12:17 pm

What do guys think about these groups? Are they REALLY necessary for college? I believe this this all bull since they just try to make people look stupid. They claim joining them builds leadership and long lasting friends, but I don't believe in that crap.

I don't the necessity in them...but whatever...it's completely up to you whether you choose to join them or not...but it's also entirely possible to make friends and socialize and (drink beer and other forms in alcohol) make an idiot of yourself without committing to some over the edge club.

I'm not joining them anyway. One or two clubs is enough for me.

I was in two geek "fraternities" (like, we did community service projects and didn't have a house) as well as various other clubs. None of that crap is necessary. If you feel like it, do it; if you don't, don't. Don't do it because you feel like you have to. Because then it won't be fun. That's one reason college was more fun than high school, for me; you get to do what you want to do, for the most part.

Also, what Moonlight Soldier said - if you want drunken debauchery, you can get it even without a frat. :P
