MRAM - new tech outlook

Hey,

Some very interesting tech research going on at IBM. MRAM looks like it is going to be the standard memory hardware for a long time when it comes out in 2005.

from what i've read, it has functions like those of current ram but unlike current ram, it has the ability to retain data even after shutting down, meaning less boot-up time for those of us who don't use hibernate or leave our computers on.

but the really good thing may be that it has a larger data storage capacity as well as being "universal" in any technology that needs data storage. it also may have higher data trasfer rates meaning more productivity and lots more fun.

Joy, so now even rebooting wont cure me of memory resident virii even after I have removed the actual corrupted executables they spawned from.

On the other hand faster datarates to/from the processor will help cure yet another bottleneck in overall computer speed.
