Whats wrong with Shoemakers?

I don't know if it's jsut an italian thing, but do you guys hear old people call you shoemakers when every ou fuck up?

example: your Cutting a peice of wood ... it's a lieept crooked and is really close to fitting where you need it but it just wont. the result ... yoru neurotic grandfather gets up and says ...

Who the hell cut this? A shoemaker?

i'm jsut wondering if it's only an italian thing to mock the trade that keeps you feet in decent condition.
