anyone here played this excellent game? i just rented it from Blockbuster, and it's the shit. i'm not exactly that far into it... only an hour and a half of play time, i just discovered a scroll detailing "The Strangling Ritual", which happened to be the title of the Chapter, so i figure this is an important development. it's just about the creepiest game i've ever played. PE2 doesn't hold a candle to it... but, that could be a) the less creepy locales, and/or b) the fact that you've got GUNS and shit, instead of just a camera....

it originally came on PS2

then it was re-released on xbox, with new costumes, around a dozen new ghosts and extra polished features and what not.

the game centers around a "true story" about a writer who was lost in the house of an old japanese warlord, who then was followed by the brother of the main character, who went on looking for him.

you are the girl who later goes in to try and find your brother, the main weapon is a camera given to you by your dead mother, who specialized in the mastery of trapping and sealing spirits into the film that was placed in the camera.. hence the camera in it of itself have special powers..

the messed up part of it, is when you start feeling the controller vibrate, thats when a spiritual essense is near, most of the time however, its just a flashback.. but it spazzes you out cuz of how they do it.. sometimes, the flashbacks actually walk right through you, and sometimes, they're not flashbacks...

the game is controlled in the first person mode when you try and capture the ghosts via camera, but most of the game is in 3rd person.

the game involves Problem Solving, Action, and clue finding. some clues are mandatory to uncovering the game, while others are little extras that you are rewarded with if you look more than you have to, it defintatly helps in uncovering the story, and understand a little better just what the whole thing is about..

the game is worth a buy no matter what system you get it on, but if you have muliple consoles like I do, Xbox hands down is the better choice.

lol, all i can say is, darn but i wanna be like her, except not dead, even virtually dead.
