Speeches that get booed off stage

Props to Michael Moore for his speech last night. Even if you don't agree with him, you gotta admit, he's got courage and honor for doing what he did. And massive cahones.

Guts, yes. I don't know about admiration.

He made a speech in front of a bunch of liberals and got boo'ed off the stage. What he said was in poor taste and showed what little class he had.

At the Oscars last night, Bowling for Columbine director Michael Moore (which one Best Documentary) made a comment during his acceptance speech on how he was ashamed of the president for getting our country into a war for fictitious reasons. He was booed and rushed off stage.

HE wasn't the only one who said they were ashamed. I think one of the Dixie Chick girl also said the same thing on tour in Europe. There popularity in the US is cr*p now.

For me, the issue has nothing to do with whether or not I agree with him... I don't feel that the Oscars were the right place to do that kind of thing. Sure, he has an opinion on the matter, but so does everyone else. People there are gathered to honor actors, film makers, musicians, and others in the entertainment industry... Not voice their political views.

I kinda agree. The oscars seems to me to be a place where you 'thank" people who have brought you to the top.

The fact that it is a huge spectacle devoted to people who really contribute to the actual running of our society means that when these people use whatever swing they have for a cause they believe in it should be seen as an admirable thing.
These people are role models and if they can't use this position for anything then why do they exist at all.
Props to Michael Moore and the people that boycotted the oscars because of the war.
