Dark Cloud/2, are they any good?

Post by JustAnOrdinaryPanda » Wed Feb 26, 2003 4:28 pm

I was just wondering, I thought the old one looked alright, and the new cell-shaded one looks pretty cool, and I was just wondering wether anyone here has played it and has an opinion, whether it's worth buying or not...

Dark Cloud 2 got Game of the Month in Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine. I personally want to see what it's like, too.

I bought it last week but haven't had a chance to play it yet. :( From what I hear though (some of my friends are currently addicted to it), it's a really fun game with a lot of stuff to do. The highlight according to people I've talked to is the invention system, where you take pictures of stuff and then combine it to make items, weapon upgrades and the like. go here for more on item creation: http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3?date=2003-02-24 (you can click on "news" for their take on the game).

Lol, nice sig there Panda. But it's your 'S,' not mine.

As for Dark Cloud, I like the first one but didn't get the chance to play all the way through. This one looks... the same but better. :) It's one of the games I'm looking forward to playing though.

Dark Cloud annoyed the shit outta me....There weren't many aspects i liked and it was kinda short and not a very "Free" world. Anyways, I've seen commercials for DC2 and it looks way better then the first one, i say hit up blockbuster and rent it lol, if u like after that go pick one up and u've already got a save going! hehe

Good idea, although I've never been much of a renter. To be honest I'm always a bit cautious when getting non-Square RPGs...
