As much as I like The Matrix, I hear Kill Bill is better.

Kill Bill...easily. It doesn't try to imply that it's something it's not (which the Matrix did for two movies). It's just an action movie and really does homage to the HK movies (or rather rips them off).

I wouldn't call it ripping off. I think, with Kill Bill, Tarantino is clearly making an homage to the classic samurai and kung fu movies that he loves.

Well I did say homage...well sort of. Regardless, by paying homage, he did take quite a few ideas from those films. Whether it's ripping off or "borrowing" is an argument in itself :). Don't get me wrong though, I liked it quite a bit.

Kill Bill was thousands of time better, anyways back on topic.

THis must eb the MAtrix Sucks thread, which I am in DIRE NEED OF! First of all some one said they didn't indend for a squal, well you guessed wrong the Matrix was presented to the studio as a Trilogy, but since it was 2 reletively unknown directors the only made one, to see what the response would be.

The 3rd Matrix was a great movie from an action stand point, and to some respects a creative stand point, but for the most part, just the action. The last 40 minutes is where the movie goes down the tubes, it fell into a spiral of cliches and streched scenes but came back a little at the end with the climactic NEO Vs. Smith uber weight title match, then fell back off into the dumps with a meaningless conclution in which we see the Programs that were in the Matrix having a little chit-chat by that HORRIBLE SUNRISE!

Like I said streched scenes, and cliches. There were some pretty big cliches, most notable, was the dying Captain Mafoony, or what ever his name was, the APU guy, giving his machine and the hopes of zion the the kid who can't do anything right, and to add insult to injury to this very battered scene, there is the mush with "But I didn't complete the training program" and the unbearable responce from our soon to be late hero, "Neither did I". I was bout to shoot my foot off, then and there.

Another cliche favorite of mine was the Hammer's flight back to Zion via the machine tunnels. In what I would call a Phantom Menance display of cheesiness, the fly throught a narrow winfing tunnel that lead to home, along the way they are attacked but lots of drones and my persone favorite recicled line from "A New Hope" itself, in the exact same context, Morpheus blurts out this little phrase "Here they come". Now you might say it is a natural thing to say under the circomestances, you are forgetting what movie your watching, famous for scenes like the "Lobby", and the ever so immitated, "Bullet Time", but instead you get drivle, poor writing and an easly forseen outcome.

Peace, ah yes that little thing, that until this movie wasn't even concidered, before it was liberation from machines, now, its FLOWER POWER! We see this movie go into what every Cinema going lose wants to see, a HAPPY ENDING! Come now you people did go to see a happy ending, you came to see humanity either fight or die... but no we get the machines and people finaly holding hands and lets face it, worshiping Neo together. Which is capped off in the poorly concived conclution with, "Will we ever see Him again" and the Oracle's Responce (SHUDDER) "Oh I think so".

I know you probably all hate me after reading all that, and you are all probably full of cheese by now, but here's the pinacle of cheese, I don't need to say anything to criticize it, you already know why it wrong. I the extremely easily forseen, thats right you guessed it, how could I leave this out you say: BURSTING THROUGHT THE CLOUDS AND SEEING THE SUN!!!! Let us bow are heads in a prayer bucause at this points omebody is shooting the corps that is The Matrix Revolutions.

SOme other good cheese is, The kid telling teh crowd the war is over, Neo suffering a debilitation of some sort, the guy in charge is an asshole, Seraph calling to say I found Neo just as they are gonna go look any way, and Neo being let out of the train station ona get out jail free card. I am sure there were others but I have wreched them from my memory.

I am past the criticism now. Here are a few things taht just don't understand withe the movie. First off did it seem to you guys that the Wachowski brothers didn't write that ending. A few more points, this movie seriously lacked in the effectly that the Matrix was built on. Neo being able to see Smith when he is blind.

Here are the Matrix's few redeeming values, One a sime creative final fight, two a good finish to our key Protaganist and antaganist, three action sequences.

Finally saw it today.
Almost everything's been said already.. ... so:

SPOILER

Was it in "reloaded" that they mention the "last exile" as if it were an entity of some importance, only to see that it was a worthless little girl?
Did they cut something out? What the hell?
I like bugging people. Deal with it.

Banana: in Reloaded, they refer to the Keymaker as 'the exile', too, so I'm assuming that it's a generic term for programs that are outside of where they should be (in the Source). Therefore, as the Matrix was meant to be ending, Shanti (sp?) was the last one to do this, hence being the 'last exile'.

Either that or they wanted to make a nod to Last Exile.
