Prepare the blowtorch! The bear is right. Episode 2 was better than the originals even though Anakin was PAINFULLY miscast.

Heh, very true. And if the original films were so good, how come Harrison Ford was the only one's career to really survive those movies?

Cause he was the only decent actor of the bunch. He made those first three movies! Without him it would have been like watching "The Adventures of Luke Skywalker!"

Oh man you guys suck the Star wars was way better than episode 1 and 2 they sucked chunks.

Why? I understand Episode 1 was crap. And none are as good as 5, but why isn't it as good?

Well, I just got back from the 2nd LotR. Got my seal of approval. For those of you who are promoting Star Wars Ep 2, please go back and watch it again... Carefully... You'll see that behind the flashy colors and the jumping Yoda, its one of the worst travesties EVER created in all of acting history.

I really didn't agree with a lot of the directing/editing choices made going book to movie but it was still one of the few films I was willing to pay $6 or more to see this year. Helm's Deep should not have been at the end...in the book it is actually in the first third of the story. And they totally ruined the ending dealing with everyone but Frodo and Sam. But Gollum totally rocked and the battle scenes, while too numerous, were very well done.

For everyone fussing about not enough magic that is exactly how it is in the books. The magic is more subtle and cunning than flashy. Try to remember that this fantasy series very much inspired all modern fantasy and invented many of the races y'all have known all your lives. The book was started during WWII and published in the 1950s. It was as much a criticism of post war industrial environment vs natural environment (Saruman vs the Ents as one of many examples) and the wanting to fill in for the long lost British myths as it is about fantasy tales and epic battles.

There should be more to a movie than spending two years doing just special effects. Peter Jackson knows this and is mainly using modern movie technology to tell a tale that before now couldn't be told properly. The lack of fireballs (which are totally nonexistent in the books) is very deliberate.

I'm not even going to get into the Star Wars debate here. I will say this, though. I went to the movies a lot in the 80s. I went a good bit in the early 90s, and a little bit in the late 90s. Now I see maybe two films a year in the theater and I only rent a handful beyond that number. Considering I have more money and a stronger social life than ever (no rude comments, please) that should tell everyone here my opinion of today's film quality.

how can you guys support episode 2? I blew ass. Everyones opinions are diffrent and if you say 4,5,6 were better, or if you say 1,2 were better I'm with you, but to say that 2 was the best is unbelievable. That movie was so terrible, acting sucked, it was too long, the story was terrible, and that on the side love thing was the worst. I watched that movie and still don't remember it all because I hated it so much, I can't believe I sat through the whole thing. All those super geek star wars guys that know absolutley everything about the series and go to cons, dress up, own the toys, memorize the movies lines, and give themselves jedi names. They all agree #2 was the worst, I just don't see where you guys are coming from.

Episode 1 and 2 do not contain likable characters and they relied way too much on cgi. They didnt even look as good Cgi wise as say Babylon 5. I don't like Anakin I don't sympethise with him. Liam nielson is outacting everyone else and he's carrying the whole series now. I really freakin hate the virgin birth crap also. Gee where Have I seen that plot before. Ok this should be on another thread. So In conclusion Lord of the rings kicks ass. George Lucas is a has been. But better to be a has been than a never was.
