It's the fact that you go threw every day, and everyone thinks your one gender, when your mind is another. It's a matter of making mind and body match. Dispite the enhrient risks, and the time involved. The process is about 2 years minimum, with a $14 000 surgery at the end. (Sayonara Mr. Happy. XD). My risks for breast cancer and varoius other cancers will be about 20-40 % higher then the average female, and I'll lose some 10 years off my life span. I'm only 19 though, so there's time to kill... literally. o_O
And the hormone pills will give me all the curves and what not. XD Prospectivly, I'll be -living- and accepted as a normal functing heterosexual female in late 2003.
This is of course bullshit. You can't get pregnent so you are not a female. There is no way a guy can actually be a girl let's just clear the air on this even if you inject yourself with Estrogen all year. You will never be a real girl. Ok what would you be? Oh I can't say it I don't really like to insult people. Maybe you should be in a nice place where men in white coats will help you. I don't know about anybody else but when I look down at Mr Ed I don't say "Gee what a good idea that would be to cut him off" The worst part of anime is all the transexual freaks in it. Doesen't make any sense to me.

Izumi, that definately took some guts to say so congratulations on that much. Personally if that's what you are then it would be rather hypocritical for a gay guy to be against it
To most of the people that responded it's nice to know that there's a lot of tolerant people around, shame about the minority though...

Actually, I don't mind they're immature responses. I'm also using this as part of a project for sociology class.
The most interesting part is the fact that those that are agianst it, arn't just 'I don't think's right'. They're saying "Oh my god homo-fag freak! Your the antichrist blah blah!"
It's one of the most interesting parts I find about people. They can't vocalize opposition respectably or maturly, they need to insult as they do it. From what I'm taught, it's basicly about attempting to reinforce their own mentality, and to maintain secure.
People are interesting creatures.

You're confusing "gender" with "sex". A majority of the English-speaking world does so, but since semantics is core to your argument, I might as well address the problem.
The former term is used to denote a state of mind and behavior. The latter term describes a physical form. It is entirely possible for a male to behave and think like a female, and vice versa.
If that's Izumi's situation, then what exactly is preventing him/her (argh I hate pronouns) from changing sex to match the gender?
Anatomy? OK, fine, maybe she won't have functioning female reproductive organs. But so what? Does this mean that females who choose to have a hysterectomy lose the quality of being female?
Fertility? By your argument, infertile females aren't female anymore.
Does that make any sense? I hope it doesn't.
Bleh.
Anyway, my opinion on the whole subject, for what little it's worth:
It doesn't bother me. I've got bigger issues to worry about. Like smacking down idiots.

i wish people weren't like this. i wish people would realize that it's not what other people think; but what they think about themselves. sociology class or a fucking hole in the ground; immature response or a red-ass beat down, i find the best medicine is not giving a shit about the disease in the first place. besides, we were all set up to fall down. one gigantic bowling game of immaturity and indiscression.DJ_Izumi wrote:Actually, I don't mind they're immature responses. you bring up an inane topic for insane reasons on one of the most idiotic message boards on the internet (which let alone sets aside all chances for a serious topic) and ask them to be 'mature'? oh hello, i am gary and i would like for you to get a reason to do such a thing! gary? sociology class? hiyo!
look, i don't like any kind of this shit. i don't like people like you, and i sure as hell didn't need to know that you were a man before you were a bad person; that kind of thing stays with you no matter how many sex changes you have. it's who you are; what's on the outside doesn't matter, but what's on the inside. how many times have you been told that? i mean, you're the one who looks like a woman for chrissake, i'd think you'd have a little bit of knowledge on the subject. you can't escape it, and still there are those think that just because they've got some sort of strange bodily function they should be respected and adored on the intermanet; held up like some olmecian-god and allowed to trample on all the other people. fuck, i can bend my finger completely around to the back of my hand, i should be a moderator!
this is the internet. this is not talking behind an alley. this is not gossip. this is not some sort of godhand trying to hold you up in the spotlight; people don't know you. people don't fucking care. so screw me if i'm one of those people. no wait, don't; you're a GIRL! EW! ICKEY COOTIES!
make it your business. you didn't need to tell us that you were putting us up like this for some retarded sociology experiment; but you felt the need to since you think that this will get you some kind of big name here. trying to justify your own existence with petty internet/sociology class bullshit.
i used to be a man, and i didn't make it this big of a deal.
what do you know? i could've been. it's for that reason and that reason alone that your 'experiment' is flawed; people don't want to take the time to know the real you, they're just puzzled as to why you hold yourself above the regular crowd and demand that they stare.
how do you like vague generalizations about a whole group of people? think it sucks, huh? well, i hate to be the one to break it to you, but..
go fuck yourself.
oh wait, you're gay too! oh god, the group of hatred; here i come!
