Have any of you played the original Metroid?

I actually have that in my apartment right now with a working NIntendo system. It's.....well......it's not great by today's standards. But if you think about the other games of the time, it's pretty good. The controller is hard to hold for long periods of time.

My gameboy also still works. Poor old thing :D Those were decent pieces of hardware. I have had batteries start frothing with gray acid in the gameboy and it still works fine.

I also liked an old game called Mr. Chin's. Pretty addictive

my old game boy still works, but I was pretty young, put it in my back pack to school, my pocket (this was tuff considering it was huge), the screen took a pretty bad beating.

It's hard to get my nintendo to work although it's plugged in right now too. I wasn't so much the care taker of the system way back when as i am now. We have to blow on cartridges and turn the power on and off countless times before it will read something.

But we do have a flawlessly working master system and atari.

We had metroid but my older brother sold it.

The <a href="http://www.atarihq.com/tsr/special/cleaning.html">NES Cleaning FAQ</a>.

You can also get NES consoles (deck only, usually) for cheap on Ebay.
I'm out...

that'd be great, but I'm far too lazy to clean it. Besides my brother sold anything that was ever good....

people always say "Here, pokemon gold and silver SUCKED compared to the original, great pokemon games". Now I really enjoyed red and blue (and yellow) in their time, but I have to say I also really liked gold and silver. I can't really decide which I liked better, each has a different dimension to it, although I can say this, I'd rather go back and play gold/silver again now than go back and play red/blue.
I'm not sure what that exactly says, but :|

Problem about gold/silver I found that Kanto was way too easy. Beat Johto, and then move on, but the rest of it took like no time at all. I was hoping for a whole new and harder continuation...

I never played the new ones. I bought yellow thinking it was new, and when i figured out it wasn't, I said fuck this. that's the last bit of money I'll ever spend on pokemon, and it was.
