My Opinion: I believe it was more prominent in past years. Though I don't have statistics to support it. I am for Pedophilia if I had to choose. Hey what ever floats your boat.

I think it's kind of a mxture of both. Way back when, older men wanted younger women because, let's face it, young women were (a) irgins, (b) getting married off, anyway, and (c) had oobs that didn't submit to the law of gravity (yet).

Nowadays, it's that AND that younger age groups have higher maturity levels. So, 8 times out of ten, you get a older guy hanging around with a younger girl (or vice versa) because they have the same maturity level.

Maturity levels are rising and rising with younger age groups, so it's really no surprise that's it's pretty common nowadays, espiecially online. Although, 70% of the time the guy only wants a younger girl because said girl probably has no idea what's going on and/or can't say "no".

Sadly, that type of pedophila is blown WAY out of porportion, just like the West Nile Virus in the U.S.

As for my view on it, -shrugs- If they both want it, and are educated on the matter, it's fine with me.

I just read an article in the news about a guy who was jailed, and one of the inmates was a man who molested him 11 years ago (when he was only 11). The victim recognized him and beat him unconscious. That makes me very happy.

I think that, by law, any sexual activity with a person under the age of 18 is pedophilia. But that's not what I think... I think it varies for each person, depending on their mental status and maturity level, but that's always hard to measure. It also has to do with how old the offender is.

Actually that's considered Statutory Rape, not Pedophilia. They're not quite the same thing.

I only responded to this topic because I recently tried to ask out a 15 year old and I'm 22. Although I'd be lieing to say I didn't want to, I had no intention of trying to get her to have sex with me. Cause for one thing I'm not stupid enough to get myself sent to prison.

But it irritates me knowing some people might consider me a pedophile because of that. Luckily no one there seemed to think I was. (Half the store knows because a manager went blabbing about it to everyone)

Hey, I'm 22 also. There was this mighty fine 16 year old girl working with me. I was pretty tempted to flip the switch but if I had sex with her then i'd be "a rapist". So I chose non jail instead. But damn, she was bangin'.

Funny thing about my situation, is I feel the worst thing about it isn't the fact that she said no. It's the fact that she thought I was 30 when I asked her... ugh...
