Someday we'll clone people and alter then so they don't have a will of their own. We'll to purposeful retardation, so they will perform mundane tasks easily for us and be our sex slaves :O

Well that's my guess where it heads off to.

Who knows, maybe you'd be replaced by a clone more willing to follow the governments agenda

Unless they want to back up all of our memories The Sixth Day style, how can we truely be immortal. Our clones wont have the vaugest idea of what kind of life we lived and wont they age prematurely? People are against even doing stem cell research, what kind of backward country was this clone made in. This kid isn't going to get life or anything remotely like that. Its going to live its days in a remote room where food is shoved in through a hole in the wall while people in white suits will watch everything it does. It will have no freedom. It is worse than slavery. Oh well, some morons will do any thing for some media attention.

It's actually quite reasonable to see why they did this. Cults exist to reach two goals, money and/or power. In this case money is the obvious objective. Think about it. You are claiming that you can create a baby, that alone will get thousands of parents that for some reason can't have a baby, have no luck with other treatments etc. Secondly it's genes will be that of the parent, so in cases where there's a problem with both couples they could have a child they have a genetic link to, don't underestimate the pull this can have on some people on having a child that is in some way theirs.

Now consider that this guy is charging about £125,000 for all future clones and women from his group are willing to be egg donors. You just get a few of them pregnant, pick a baby that looks a bit like the chosen parent and hand it over. By the time people realise that it's all fake he'd have raked in a fortune.

If it was a female clone, then it wouldn't be your clone. and It shouldn't depend on sexual preferences, consideirng it'd just be like.. masturbation..
