FFX2....

It's just not right to put a 2 after a
Final Fantasy. What are they thinking?
I think it looks cool. As much as people say 'it's not right', 'they're milking it', and 'it's not a proper Final Fantasy' (this goes for FFXI, and FFCC as well), I think these games are actually looking good.
Thus far I think the series has done great, (and I think FFX was under-rated, along with 8). Although if the series were to continue as is, I believe that it would become bland. New things like FFXI, and FFX-2, a concept never done before, which is looking to have a different style of gameplay, will be good.
1. a young kid in the group or as the main character - too many misfit teenagers
Relm, Eiko, that one from FFV, what's her name...
2. an older person in the group or as the main character - think of how cool Auron is from FFX
Cid, Cecil, the old guy from FFV (it's been a while)
3. main character using a different weapon - yes, a sword is cool but what about an axe, bow, spear, gun, or magic wand
A gun...blade?
4. main character not in a love relationship - the other characters in the group being in this and you are observing
That doesn't seem to be much of a problem, after all it's never
you, so you're always the observer.
5. a girl as the main character - might be interesting and different
Many argue Terra was the main character of FFVI.
6. NOT HAVE DEATH AS A MAJOR FACTOR IN THE GAME - it's depressing to have those people close to you die (FFVII) or watch as innocent bystanders are killed and entire villages are destroyed
It often increases your emotional attachment to the game, when done well, which I think the FF series normally does.
