yes but i don't directly pay for it. I pay the city for living here, its their money now they can do what they want with it....... they do anyways.

that makes it sound bad... hmmm..... well i don't consider the city an entity that owns something. I think its there because it has to be. Since thobjects used are public property anyone can do whatever they want. If you've got a problem tell the cops or something don't chase them with a 2x4.

It's called "Neighborhood Intitiative." We have really low city taxes here, and not everyone agrees they should be raised as some people feel funds wind up being unevenly distributed. As a result, a plan was developed that allows neighborhoods to create their own minor development plans for civic improvements like benches, gardens, minor repairs to sidewalks, etc. The neighborhood put up a percentage of the funds, and the town matches those funds up to a given amount and then provides contracts out for the work to be done in the neighborhood. I'm pretty proud of the work we've we as a neighborhood have worked to achive in my part of town, and it has helped increase property values to boot which is a big plus.

That actually sounds like a good idea. I however live by a lot of rich snobs who don't care for anything but themselves so...... nothin gonna happen here. Thats also why i don't care if someone does something to their stuff.

wow you're anoying.....

..anyways. I surf so I get the "cool" facotr, plus I ge tto enjoy the sport. Maybe your friends should take that up, after all you do live in hawaii. Plus no one can yell at you, "HEY!!! you're vandalizing the ocean!! get that board off my water!!! I PAID FOR THAT!!!" And it's a lot funner than biking, though I admit bmxing is fun.
