Not that i can really hold your opinion too high anyways. I think you just don't like the type of game not the series itself. As for the movie, like i said the graphics aren't perfect but they did a good job i think.
Madness and genius are seperated only by degrees of success.
I don't think necessity is the mother of invention - invention, in my opinion, arises directly from idleness, possibly from laziness. To save oneself trouble.

I didn't like it, but it really WASN'T AS BAD AS YOU GREEDY PEOPLE SAY IT IS.
Damn! At least the movements aren't as bad as in, say, "Action Man", "Max Steel", and "Butt Ugly Martians".
Those people put a lot more effort into it than most people will ever understand.
You were all just expecting too much, and were dissapointed... Like a child who didn't get EXACTLY what they wanted on Christmas.
EX: Child wants Red Ranger, got Green Ranger.
Stop whining about the graphics.
I thought the story sucked, but then again, I didn't like 7-10 very much either.

broli, what you should realize about the movie was that it had NOTHING to do with the video games of Final Fantasy, and that the idea of creating a new plot of the movie would make squaresoft think they we're successful came true, then they would'nt have asked Sony for all the damn weak donations for their studio ...

You hurt my feelings! You hurt my feelings! You hurt my...
SHUT UP!
As for the rest of you, I might as well say something. Ya, it had bad advertising. That, however, is not the reason it bombed. People who saw it told people who hadn't that it sucked. Only a select few seem to like it and I bet these people are Squaresoft fanatics who are even going to get FFXI, which is going to suck mucho amount of ass.
In the upcoming FFXI, you must: Buy the game. Pay for the online service. Pay to recieve the correct "links" to the online service. Pay additional charges for actually playing it. Pay for each character you have. And last, but not least, pay for PS2 modem if you don't already have one. The total cost comes out to approx. $150-200 along with billing.
Why did I bother mentioning this? Because the people who liked the movie are probably the same people who'll buy this game. This means that Squaresoft is gaining money from the same 100 or so people. This also means that squaresoft will probably fail at raising enough money to repair the damages done by their blockbuster flop. Things are getting worse by the minute.
Recently the Final Fantasy creator's contract expired. Instead of renewing it, though, he followed through with his original plan. He quit. This shook the very roots of Squaresoft. Their biggest money-maker...maker is gone and they have no back-up. This is the roots for FFX-2. There is NO originality left in Squaresoft. All they can hope for is for stupid spin-offs to roll in enough to live on. Some people find this terrible. I find it amusing.
I hope this is the end of Squaresoft.

I wish I could say something about the graphics, but last night when I watched it, I was mostly paying attention to the story line. ^_^;jonmartensen wrote:Let me clarify the graphics comment. They did a beutiful job of giving surfaces depth and overlayed textures quite well, but the poor movement of the characters and the choices of ambient lighting settings in many scenes made it look bad. They could have done so much better with the computing power that they had.
Well, I actually think that it did have the same kind of aspects, but when you say "Nothing like the video games of Final Fantasy," How would you describe how the video games actually are? If you had to give them some kind of description to compare to the movie, what would it be? I didn't really write anything down to compare it too, just the final production, when I got to the end, I felt it compared quite nicely. Of course this is only my opinion and yours obviously differs.Projekt[Navi] wrote:broli, what you should realize about the movie was that it had NOTHING to do with the video games of Final Fantasy, and that the idea of creating a new plot of the movie would make squaresoft think they we're successful came true, then they would'nt have asked Sony for all the damn weak donations for their studio ...
- Yeah, if you put it in terms of a computer animated Film, It is probably one of the best. And it could possibly (IMO), if you eliminated Disney, be the best.Roke wrote:I didn't like it, but it really WASN'T AS BAD AS YOU GREEDY PEOPLE SAY IT IS.

I know those dumbasses. WTF would anyone pay that much, its redicules. I'll just wait for FFXII (12), which I'm pretty sure is not online only. I think they should have made FFXI(11) both, if they wanted to have it online so bad. This way they would probably still make the same amount of money, cuz even though it would be cheaper, more people would buy it, and there will still be some who would want to play online. So this way, not only is square gunna make more money (probably), everyone would be far more happy.Balrog the Clown wrote:You hurt my feelings! You hurt my feelings! You hurt my...

I hope this is the end of Squaresoft.
Ex:
soccer ball: $10 - buyers = 50
soccer ball and football pack: $20 - buyers = 20
football: $10
math
10x50=500
20x20=400
As you can see not everyone is going to want the football (online stuff). So if they were to sell just the soccerball ( only the game FFXI)(11)), they would end up making more money. Besides there still are some that can buy the football ( online stuff ) seperatly if they want to.
If this made sense, good

Oh and as for the movie I liked the digital effects.

I will go ahaid an admit i'm a squaresoft fanatic. Although i am not a stupid one. I'm not about to pay the prices for 11 until i find out exactly whats going to happen in the U.S. Even then i still might not get it. I don't believe this is the end of Final Fantasy or squaresoft. I do belive that the end might soon be coming soon unfortunately.
I hope they will atleast get to 13.
