It's entirely possible that someone from Japan may not have heard of Mortal Kombat.

Aetherfukz, the MK video game was produced in America by Midway in 1992-93. It was released for Super Nintendo (complete with stupid grey blood blotches), so maybe that's what you're thinking of.

I do't think it was released for Super Famicom, which is the Japanese equivalent of SNES.
