I LOVE em all
I mean, all RPG's are good. Action, turn based or the classical push a button style. They're all great. Although, it really depends on what type of mood you're in. For example, if you're in a bad mood and really want to get True satisfacton from killin the boss, or just a tough, then action is the type to play. But, if you're want to show off your millitary genuis, then it's gotta be turn based. Although some claim that turn based isn't really rpg, but strategy, well, those people don't know what they're talkin about!! And, if you're just in the mood for the basics, the ones that only require you to pay attention, the its the classical rpg that you go to play. Well, I said my bit, and whether or not you agree with me, you HAVE to admit, that all rpgs are good, no matter what type. And I really do mean you HAVE TO, or I'll track you down!!! Later.

I respect the Action RPGs, although I find that many are not that distinguished as RPGs, more as non linear platformers. But turn-based rules all, mainly because of the existance of Square. Without that company, what would the name of turn-based RPGs be like? I'm not saying there are no good non-Square RPGs, just the Final Fantasys, Chronos, and even Kingdom Hearts
all kick ass.

I just finished my action-rpg
So, I guess you might say I beat ya to it Roke, as I just finished it. True, it doesn't have great graphics but then, the graphics aren't that bad considerin I made the game from scratch...Too bad its SOO large or I'd putit up on the net for download. Oh well. EVERYONE would think it sucks anyway, I mean, I only like it cause I made it so how would others take it? Not good. hehe. But at least I gave it a go. By the way, what was I talkin about? Good this is the off topic forum.

WTH was the question??
In EQ you do have to wait your turn to attack... it won't let you attack twice in a row unless you are fast or your enemy is slow right?? You wait your turn...Mroni wrote:Of course Everquest is the closest thing to Rpg there is! So its better than any game where you have to wait through turns when fighting. So I guess action is better.
Mr Oni
But it's the same with PSO/ Diablo-type games which are just more based on YOUR stamina not just your characters... coarse in EQ you can actively dodge but (archers etc would do it alot)... Abort Retry Fail??

Re: I LOVE em all
in an rpg you FULLY play somebodys ROLE 24/7 (aka Shenmue, GTA... well Shenmue is about the only true RPG...). If you wanna define it that way you'd have to call everything from Grand Turismo <sp?> (race car DRIVER!) to Who Wants To Beat up a Millionare (Hick! hehehe ok... BULLIE!) an RPG.LordPhoenix wrote:I mean, all RPG's are good. Action, turn based or the classical push a button style. They're all great. Although, it really depends on what type of mood you're in. traditional rpgs like FF are pretty close, you go to the store etc. but only true RPGs are truly time oriented (Shenmue, EQ, Morrowind etc..)
