Yeah I agree with Chaos, that was just too sad for Futurama. Everything would've been fine if Fry were right and Seymour had just forgotten since he's a dog and couldn't really be expected to remain loyal for... 12 years? I didn't quite hate the ending, but it was... sad.

But I agree, they should just be moved to a later time slot. And 9:30 would be perfect... for me at least :) .

Too sad?.....That's not a bad thing.

I mean, I think it's pretty successful at showing the emotion involved if it made so many people cry (which I have heard it did).

I think it's just not what you expect to experience when you watch Futurama. That is something Simpsons, King of the Hill, or many other animated sitcoms have accomplished. I think it shows why futurama deserves to be on air...the 7 leaf clover episode was another one.

I'm so confused about the ending, it doesn't seem to have any closure except for Bender blowing up. I probably would have to see it for myself, I'll be suer to catch it on Cartoon Network.

<<<<SPOILER ALERT!!!>>>>

See, what made me want to just cry is how Seymour died. He died lonely, miserable, homeless, and STILL WAITING FOR FRY!! He waited 12 years for Fry to come back, and died alone in the snow, STILL waiting for him. I can understand where Fry was coming from, he couldn't have known what happened, but it's still such a sad and futile way of ending the episode, not to mention Seymour's life. Seymour waited 12 years for Fry to come back, just to die on the street in the snow...

<<<<End Spoilers>>>>

Very moving episode. Any show that can elicit this kind of response is deserving of something.

Too bad Fox doesn't seem to want to keep it. Oh, well. Cest le vie, I guess.

I probably should just not offend anyone else on this board, but why not go for a clean sweep?
Why the hell do so many people like Futurama? I don't see how you could lament it's demise when Family Guy was a far superior show.
As it is now, Futurama is only about as funny as the Simpons was when it began to suck a few years ago. Even if it was kept up by Fox, it would've went the same way as the Simpsons, only in an accelerated state of decay.
What has happened to the Simpsons makes me cry inside, I don't want what happened to it happen to any other show. Perhaps it is better for Futurama this way.

I like Futurama because of how many pop culture jokes and references there are to the 80's and early 90's. Fry 'grew up' in the same era I did and it's fun to relate. The writing is good I think. I know the Simpsons does a lot of in depth humor thanks to it's incredible writers...and I really liked the family guy show too. I was pretty entertained how it kept going on hiatus and back until it's final demise last summer....it shows how dumb Fox execs are.

I just like the characters on Futurama....they are more lovable than the Family guy characters. Both were funny, but for me annoying characters made it not as appealing.

To each their own though, don't you think?

And I'll write up a ep. synop for you Wired Knight if you can't find a good one elsewhere

Yeah, I guess so Misty, but the Simpsons USED to be the greatest satire I think there has ever been in tv show form. I don't know what happened to the writers, but such horrendous piece of shit episodes such as the one where Bart is trapped in a Mall with a cougar and the one where Lisa discovered a scent that nerds emited that caused bullies to beat them up officially negated any good the series was.
This place is such a shit-hole.
