jonmartensen wrote:assume a=b ok
then ab=a^2=b^2 that's fine
so ab+(a^2-2ab)= a^2+(a^2-2ab) still ok
simplifying a^2-ab= 2a^2-2ab no problem yet
factoring 1*(a^2-ab)= 2*(a^2-ab) kosher isn't a word I would use here because...
therefore 1=2 you made 1*0=2*0 into 1=2, I'm sorry, you get an F for algebra
Not really a mistake, he did ask you to find what was wrong with it....
I like bugging people. Deal with it.

And yea, you've done the right thing Moonlight Soldier - if maths and sciences don't interest you, be smart and choose a career in humanities, like me
What are you going into Otohiko?

Presently, I'm a Linguistics/TESL major with a History minor, hope that works out as planned.

After that, I'll try to get an ESL teaching job, hopefully in Japan, if not - Korea, or somewhere in Europe, for a few years.

Further down the road - Linguistics is likely the area I'll pursue in post-Graduate studies. Not sure what specifically.

Cool. I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to, but i'm into English Sign Language. Though this could be a completely different ESL....

Though anyways, English/Languages for me, is definately where it's at,

I intend to go for Journalism magazine specification, (hopefully get a job with an anime mag (that would be so cool!!!) like Pro Culture Addicts...so far that's the only one that's Canadian that I know of, and I think it's based out of Montreal, which is awesome because Montreal is an AMAZING city...Anyways moving on...

ESL = English as Second Language, TESL = Teaching ESL

I considered doing some writing, but, I guess if I get my PhD and land a University job, I'll probably be doing lots of that anyways...

Oh I see. My brother's friend is over in Japan right now teaching ESL (your ESL). He has a major in accounting and marketting and is over there to make money to go into a law program (can you say full-time student) but he says it's really cool over there and they take really good care of you. He figures he'll stay for an extra half of a year or something.

Thats wrong. First of all, you can't divide by 0, second of all, you don't need to occupy infinite space to exist.

Gee, I posted that bogus proof about three months ago and noone was even paying attention :P

Possibly, it was because it was buried in one of the anime sex threads or something equally stupid, and noone would have cared :P
