hmmm nice stuff, i don't know if i'd ever dress up though ... i guess thats just not my thing. Or mayb eit is and i jstu don't know it yet since i've never been to a convention. But elfarlo, i don't think that site helped ... bleck .. fantasy blades ... nothing is more annoying then non functional fantasy blades ... i'd rather have a plain well made katana or a light broad sword ... or even a well made knife ... OMG and serrations too ... ugh, if i wanted a serrated blade i'd buy a saw ... well thats my 2 cents ...

did you just copy and paste that out of another board, or do you have it saved somewhere
? Any how, serrations serve no purpose on a sword/axe/cutty thing, whole purpose of a weapon is to quickly incapacitate your oponent, not take your time sawing his legs off.......a rusty knife is better than a serrated blade..

Interesting thing about katanas: in WWII, many Japanese soldiers, pilots, and officers carried them as sidearms when given the choice, instead of the 8mm Nambu pistol. It was better in close range combat (guns you have to aim - swords, you can swing and improve your chances of hitting), especially since the Nambu was not that hot as a killing tool.

Serration will make the wound deeper than an ordinairy blade. If you have ever used a serrated knife, you will notice it cuts meat much more quickly because a single cut is deeper and requires less effort than a straight edged knife of the same size. A serrated sword would cut flesh deeper(and thus, incapacitating better) than a normal blade because of the way it is made.

a serated blade would just get stuck in people youd swingit, hit theyre leg or something, and it be stuck, whilst its stuck in their leg, they are cutting u to pieces with a sword that doesnt get stuck, and serrated blades only work with a large amount of force/pressure to assist the cutting......sure, they look evil, but a sword without barbs/serrated edges wouldnt get hooked on armour and suchlike, one with would.....

Serrated blades cut fast because there is resistance on the blade itself. However, this does not mean that, as a generalization, serrated blades cut faster, deeper, or are sharper. I have some knives in my kitchen that could blow the water out of any serrated blade in my house. With slight pressure, those bitches cut through leather. =O

http://coldsteel.com/index-b.html select folders from the menu on the left and its called the triple action folder. mine the the center one ( i also own the ti-lite above it). the serations on this make it able to say cut through car doors easliy or slice open tires. Serrated blades would cause the person more pain also lessening the chance of retaliation becauses the nerves are not cut a clean Also if you happen to find one of these knives for sale and its in decent condition. i would buy it because cold steel does not make them anymore which makes them a collectors item.AtomicWeezleman wrote:did you just copy and paste that out of another board, or do you have it saved somewhere?
