I wonder why CNN doesn't get waved around, too.

I can wave lots of things around, but what does it change?

Just great, now that book with a form of the word liar in its title three times seems not to far from the truth.

So we're supposed to have liars who tell lies about other liars lies? Politics is way to confusing.

I've never said I wasn't skeptical about BBC, but I'm quite a bit more skeptical about CNN or any other american network. In any case, it seems now they're trying to play a game of 'Oh, you think we're bad propaganda? hey look, but the Brits got worse! And so does Robert Mugabe! Gee, we're not that bad now, are we?'

BBC>CNN>FOXNEWS/MSNBC/ABC/CBS/NBC>others

BUT

"others" are constantly used as checks against major news networks. If "others" 70% or more disagree with BBC/CNN/etc then "others" news is given more credit on that story.

The Hutton Inquiry has been the #1 news item for an awful long time over here. To expand on that article, reports that the intelligence dossier on Iraq was not entirely true and accurate, and may have been 'sexed up', reached Mr. Gilligan, and his informant's name was leaked as being Dr. David Kelly, a weapons inspector. After some time on public trial, the stress on the intensely private Dr. Kelly is believed to have lead him to commit suicide. Ultimately, whoever leaked his name (believed to be Mr. Hutton) is implicated as being a key to the events that lead this man to commit suicide. As they Hutton and Kelly were both Ministry of Defence, there's obviously a lot of attention on this, and also on the BBC regarding whether or not reporting their information without sufficient background checks was a factor.

Or at least, that's how I understand it to be.

Don't worry Savia, I know. I'm an avid BBC watcher and reader, not to say I don't take them critically.

Well, it's true. I usually just go elsewhere when the story comes up, heard enough about it. I am amused by the expression 'sexed up' though (that is the actual expression they used hehe) You silly Brits....

Well, I'm sure that 'sexed up' accurately describes what happened to that dossier
