Anyone have any info on this game?
I know it's on Gamecube, but I want it for Dreamcast. I'm having a hard time finding it for dreamcast though. Although I've found a few sites selling it, I guess, but I'm not sure if it strictly japanese DC and not for american DC.

There is no US version of the game - it was import DC only, which isn't a problem if you've got an asian DC, modded US DC, or a boot disc (which most people who still have a Dreamcast probably have).
I haven't touched the GC version of the game because frankly the DC version is a perfect arcade port since the arcade version ran off a Naomi 2 board (the DC hardware in an arcade board, essentially).
Highly recommended if you're a shooter fan, BTW. Probably one of the best shooters of ALL TIME.

I messed with booting but I never tried running imports. And then I stopped using them cause I think its the reason my DC stopped working. Had to buy another one (Can not go without Soul Calibur).ErMaC wrote:There is no US version of the game - it was import DC only, which isn't a problem if you've got an asian DC, modded US DC, or a boot disc (which most people who still have a Dreamcast probably have).

I'll find some way to get it.

The solution I came up with to play Ikaruga might not be to your liking, but it IS doable.Kracus wrote:I messed with booting but I never tried running imports. And then I stopped using them cause I think its the reason my DC stopped working. Had to buy another one (Can not go without Soul Calibur).
I'll find some way to get it.
1) Buy the GC Ikaruga.
2) Buy a few other GC games while waiting for the price of the console to drop.
3) Buy the Gamecube.
So far, I'm on Step 2; oddly enough, the only OTHER GC game I own is Soul Calibur II (rabid SC fanboy; and Yes, I've got the PS2 and XBox versions as well

do you have either of the Xbox or PS2 consoles??? a used GC is probly at the lowest price it's gonna be for another year btw. $80. If I'm wrong (N just took away the free game deal so that may have changed the used's price... or will soon) than don't get it while N is screwing with us consumers, it should go back down soon (hopefully before Christmas). I'm just happy cuz I got mine for $80 ;-p.CliffD wrote: The solution I came up with to play Ikaruga might not be to your liking, but it IS doable.

Is it really a bad thing to have never owned a Nintendo console before?Sub0 wrote:do you have either of the Xbox or PS2 consoles???

Currently:
1 Sony PlayStation2
1 Sony PSOne (modded for DDR and Super Robot Wars)
2 Sega Dreamcasts (one as a spare -- none modded)
1 Microsoft XBox
1 Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP (platinum -- wish Onyx had been available earlier)
1 Nintendo Game Boy Advance
2 SNK Neo Geo Pocket Colors
1 Bandai WonderSwan (but only two games for it)
Thanx for the advice.Sub0 wrote: a used GC is probly at the lowest price it's gonna be for another year btw. $80.
