But seriously, a while ago I did make a post about possible game input devices and RPG kiosks... If I ever make a game it will likely utilize one of those concepts.
Either that, or a realtime handheld one that makes you play it constantly over a GPRS connection.
Here's one:
Mecha Pilot: It's NOT a F*cking Cessna
The Real INTERN Experience
The game will be designed based on a complex 70-or-so-dimension input device based on two sticks that can be lifted, rotated, tilted, etc, with several touchpads. The patent-pending part: a rubber-sheet thumbpad printed with gridlines and read by an optical sensor to capture pressure AND tilt.
The "mecha" you pilot in the game is highly complex and required a PhD to understand. Though it does have one simple but critical feature not found in fighter jets, cars or Gundams: dynamic automation.
You'll be able to use the Macro Recorder to capture your best moves and recall them with full control. After you graduate from that, it's raw Perl-based scripts.
And of course we add a nice dynamically generated storyline, connect it to an online MMORPG and everything else. The discs will be free; you pay for the single-user mode or buy a subscription
