I attended Muskingum Perry Career Center from 95-97 when I graduated with a 2 year Technical degree in Audio Video Production. I used Beta decks, Sony Studio Cameras, as well as all kinds of portable Hi-8 and VHS-C hand helds. I also learned about cool things like FCC regs, tape and film frame rates, even the composition of analog recording tape. *The secret ingredient is Iron Oxide* :p

Then I attended Ohio University Zanesville and walked away with a 2 year Associates in Electronic Media. I used that as the first 2 years of my Bachelor's degree and then in 3 more years, I had my 4 year degree :? (yeah...it doesn't come to 4 years does it)

I don't regret college at all...just where I went. I wish I had gone to a more production oriented school than a journalism-broadcast style. I worked at the radio and TV stations at WOUB for 2 years, and it was nice and easy...and boring....The news program was the only thing that got my blood running. But when it was done...I had nothing to look at. I really want to be in post production...doing...something....anything!

Hopefully I'll be using the freaking degrees in a month or so...I had been working a job sanding and shaping in a factory. It paid well ( 9.00 regular and 13.00 overtime) but oh..how it brings tears to the eyes to know how this is not where you are supposed to be...but this is Ohio after all. There are TV stations but I have done that before....and it's not my cup of tea. I am in it for creation...gotta move westward...

Good luck to you misty!

FirestormXIII : Went to Rutgers in New Brunswick!!! Great school, If I win the lottery I will definatly go back for my masters.

BUT.... .right now, Im back in my home state (where school is cheap) especially since I am by my self now. Im going to Florida Atlantic University, my senior year, major Biological Anthropology minor philosophy. Not my first choice in schools, but I cant complain when Im getting most of my school paid for. Just sucks that I have to drive an hour and a half one way just to get to school. Ill stick it out and when I get my B.A. Ill go on to my masters and then I will be out of this state and hopefully on to a brighter future.

I am in my third year at Southern Illinois Univerity (Carbondale) in Carbondale, Illinois. I was a Cinema and Photography major emphasising in Cinema as a filmmaker. However, given that I got a D in that fergin' class, I have since decided to switch to a Video Production major through the Radio/Television department, and I hope to be involved in post production work... somewhere.

I am going to see about applying for internships for this summer. With any luck, it'll get me a foot in the door somewhere, and I can subject myself to video editting full-time. ;)

Seeing as my roomie is being paid $1,000 for a freelance contract, I will be glad to be in a position to sell my abilities to people.

I totally dropped out of kinder-Gordon like a year and 1/2 ago. It was so fucking annoying. You sign up for a C++ class and they spend all the 1st quarter teaching you very basic HTML (<b> = Bold, <i> = Italics), then the next quarter on MS Access. Then the bitch of a teacher has the audacity to fail me for turning in my finished projects in C!! Kill her! I am not paying you people to waste my time I want a fuck education. I am aware we live in Middle Georgia, but we sure as hell don't have to act like it!
And don't get me started on my English professor. OHhhhhhh!!
School is for chumps, that's why I totally work 3 jobs just to make ends-meet... and barely make bill payments... and... Gawddamn this is depressing.

Post subjects are a waste of time

Which college?

From October, I'll be studying mathematics at King's College, Cambridge University. If I take the three year option I'll end up with a BA, but if I take the four year option (far more likely) I should [hopefully] come out of it with a Masters.

Bachelor of Science in biology at Carlow College (tiny 93%-female college in Pittsburgh), 1999

Not doing a blessed thing with it, though. It's not their fault. ;)
