It sure does, but nobody should condemm Iranians by actions of a single man or aging religious leaders. Besides, he was sentenced and executed (personally I don't favor death penalty) and according to Guardian he thought government would actually intervene. btw, do you know what they do in Iran. Family of a victim can intervene in capital cases and pardon them. I remember one case* where 16 year old boy was almost literally dragged away from the gallows** by a victims father who considered death penalty sentence too extreme.
*If I remember correctly, another boy was killed in a fistfight after hitting his head to a rock when he fell down.
**Not literally gallows since in Iran they do it in reverse style. Criminal is actually lifted up by a crane and dangled over the city.
