I at one point made an animated gif for a midi file...

the html gif and midi file was under 50k..

sure the sync sucked... but it was an experiment

Watching it fullscreen is the best idea i ever had.

hmm.. I'ma see what happens when you compress video at 10kbps in XviD and mpeg1 :| and then I'm going to test out mp3, vorbis, and wma at 6kbps :\
