First things first, you have to have the Kanji language package installed on to your system. At that point it's just a matter of entering it as a text either abusing the Character map, babelfish, or out and out learing the language all together.

You could, of course, also just install the Japanese IME. Works great for me.

shouldn't this be in software help? Not be whiney or anything, but you'd think you get a lot more and BETTER responces there. Not saying anything here was bad, but some users get online just to help, and this isn't the forum they check.

The IME was a pain! A pain I tell you!

I was reading tuts on this and they said hit Alt+Shift and look for the "IME toolbar" to pop up. This bar never popped up and I guess what with Win2k + SP3, the toolbar doesn't exist, it's another icon in the system tray that looks like a pen that you have to right click on to access the same options. >_<

It was sooo frustating...

Weird, it worked for me upon installation...

Language BarはSystem Trayのひだりがわがあります：

I'd do katakana approximations, if I wasn't so afraid of making myself look dumber than I probably already am.
