So I saw Equilibrium today.
It was quite good.
The story is pretty well done, with a few twists and surprises.
But what makes this film way cool are the excellent cinematography/camera angles and action scenes. Liberal uses of speeding up the footage also add to the effect.
Being an action flicks there are guns and swords... and boy, are there guns and swords! The choreography is top-notch and reeks of style and fluidity. Even an asian raised on martial-arts films as I uttered a few wow's and cool's during the entire ride. Equilibrium takes liberties with some preconceived cliches of action flicks and changes them around; creating something that's a little odd but in the end works pretty well.
And at the end of this mind-speak, cliff notes review, KPC gives this sleeper hit a whole-hearted "Watch it now".
