CSS Script question

Post by TokyoU15 » Fri Nov 22, 2002 5:05 am

Ok, this question is about webdesigning. I've noticed that all the websites I visit display properly at whatever resolution at me. Most of the time I'm at 1600x1200 and everything is fine....but when I make a site at 1024x768 it can ONLY be viewed at that res. Anything lower or higher doesn't work.

I'm wondering how do webdesigners do this? do they use CSS? It's really frustrating and I've searched the web for info and it seems like CSS is the way they do it (I look at the source and most of them use CSS). If this is the case, I need to start crackin' on CSS.

Any input would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Try some DHTML with % controlling size/position/etc

Just don't make the mistake of putting 1600x1200 bmps on your page and thinking if you shrink them down they will take less time to load, nothing like waiting for someones thumbnails of their pictures to load because they're actually the whole fscking picture shrunk to 5% height and 5% width.

Out of curiosity what are you using to design them? I would say "percentages instead of set pixel widths", but that's kind of obvious. O_o

well, I made the site using frontpage and I don't use teh whole pics and then just resize them with HTML. I know that's not the way to do it!

Here's the site I made www.blackchapel.net

I'll look into DHTML, thanks.

You wasted a lot of space on the top-left. And I think the content frame should be bigger.

I'm going to put a picture of the band on the top left corner, that wasted space has been bugging me for a while.
