I've decide after much thought that I have to write a persuasive speech on forums. But what i really want, is your opinion on:
what a Forum is?
What it means to you?
And more importantly, how does it affect you?
I want the physcology behind it, the way it affects people, and how people on it affect each other.
* I want your opinion on it, more then anything else.
* Everybody, including mods...an opinion.

I've only been to one, that's this one.
I assume it comes with something that everyone has a common hindsight to, for example, this anime forum
so, my definition? it's where ppl come to share thoughts, ideas..etc about a common, or some common things (kinda like a club?)
I love talking to different people, whether it be via internet or in 'real world', i dont know, you come to find that some ppl have some great ideas about things, and some ppl are very knowledgable in maybe a subject you wanted to grasp but couldnt , ive learned some cool things on here, and not just anime related either
affecting ppl? i dont know, someppl just want to have fun, others want to talk, others want attention, others want to be center of attention, some ppl want new friends, ppl want to 'fit in', who knows
personally..i havent made any friends on here, not that i dont want to, or havent tried
and i dont think neone regards me as a friend on here
but i do know that i like talking to all these ppl
i could easily go home, after the crappiest day at work and/or college and call up my friends, or talk to my boyfriend, who mind you, doesnt get any of my jokes 'course, nor do my friends, except one
but i can come on these forums, and u ppl would 'get my jokes'
i dont know, i cant explain myself
neway, if someone were to call me a big fickled ass, i'd laugh, if someone were to make fun of WV, i'd get angry
I react on here the same way i do in real
i've noticed that a lot of ppl don't, like the 'quiet-ones' in real life, or what not, and someone ppl are ultra-gullible (like tab, after i lied and said i was 13, the last ending line i said was 'let's eat', that's a cue for im lying')
i think to many, the forums (chatting, period) are a means of escaping
what else to say, forums, chatting in general, what not, represents the world in itself ...ppl laughing, ppl getting angry, ppl getting sad, ppl caring, ppl leaving a situation (in this case, a forum)
I know that i enjoy talking to you guys, and i feel that im in a well rounded community with a thing in common ..we all enjoy anime, and i feel good to be a part of the .Org (i cant wait to wear the fucken t-shirt,: has fyrtenheimer with catuar on the front, and ANIMEMUSICVIDEOS.ORG on the back)
omg, ramble
im gonna get me a Dole drink, them im gonna eat

A forum requires membership, but is not exclusive. In many ways it is a textual way to communicate amongst friends. Ideas and opinions can be expressed, and you don't have to worry about "fights" because the conversations are moderated and therefor harshness can be curbed. You can always voice your ideas without having to shout, no one can be drowned out by the other voices in the conversation.
A forum is almost always based around a "theme" which it's participants talk about, although it isn't always the topic of the conversation. You can ask for opinions and help on specific subjects.
I would recomend that you include the fact that you came to a forum to get other peoples opinions and their help in describing what a forum is to them.

What the forum mean to me? Well...
I am not so long on this forum now, but I have major expierience in much other ones. And the first thing that comes into my mind is: Talking, Havin'a ball and getting help.
I mean, I really like to hang out at this forum, mainly because when I posted my first posts (double-whopper, hehe
) I didn't get flamed or anything, all I got was kind answers.
Also in a forum you can talk about much more geek things than in real life. Hell, if I would tell friends of mine about Inverse Telecining, Framerate conversions and all that stuff, they would die of boringness!
I think the philosophy in the forum is, you can be much more like you really are than you can act sometimes IRL. Because it is more anonym, but there are always the other ones, that completely behave 180° than they are in real.
OK, I'm not into philosophiing right now, but maybe a little later, when SWED got me...
