shaolin soccer....

Post by DashoutriderII » Wed Nov 13, 2002 11:25 pm

how many people have seen the previews for this movie? I think it looks really funny and i haven't been able to find that much on it. (at least not in english) If you haven't heard of it watch a trailer at some place, this movie looks surprisingly funny and it won alot of awards I hear. I still have that Kung-fu fighting remix in my head....

Shaolin Soccer is GREAT! I have the Hong Kong DVD and I have other movies by the same guy, including God of Cookery and Flirting Scholar (which they titled Flirtong Scholar)

The movie is hillarious, but I worry how much it will be damaged by the company releasing it in the US.

The Jackie Chan movies brought to US by that one company cut 20-30 minutes out of each film.

They released Armor of God 2: Operation Condor as Operation Condor
then they later released Armor of God as Operation Condor 2

They released Police Story III: Supercop as just Supercop and released an unrelated movie as Supercop 2.

*Sigh*

I urge you just get the Hong Kong DVDs...

I just might do that... I also noticed the differences in the jackie movies... didn't supercop 2 have michelle yeoh and just a minor appearance by jackie...dressed in a woman's dress. As for Operation Condor they really messed those movies up. I believe I will go searching for good prices on the imports....

I saw it when I was in Hong Kong a couple of summer ago. It was pretty funny with great special effects. Nowhere near God of Cookery for Stephen Chau's masterpiece, but a movie I'd gladly see again.

Tom! Your avatar is from Whispers of the Heart!
I have decided to take an instant liking to you!

Seriously, I love Whispers of the Heart and think it is a great film and I'm glad to run into people who also know the film.

Anyway... that's all...

Shaolin Soccer is great. I've got the HK DVD (also have God of Cookery and I weep in dread of what will be done for the american release of SS.

Just the mere mention of a remix of "Kung-Fu Fighting" has me wondering if they will ditch the excellent instrumental main theme.
