This password changing is getting old

I can't just keep changing my password every 6 months! This is ridiculous! I already spent maybe 30 minutes or so trying to remember the last password I had and that said, this rule of having to change passwords every 6 months or whatever has got to go. What happens if I can't remember the password? What am I supposed to do then? Better to have a password I can always remember and never have to change then having to change it to a new one every 6 months!

The site doesn't require you to change your password every 6 months. Right now it is set to every 500 days if you're forgetting your password every 6 months, that doesn't have anything to do with how the site/ forums are configured.
