I've linked the before/after video that Vik put together so you can really see the vision in this creation. I really appreciate the way it utilizes compositing and color grading to really incorporate all this imagery into one gorgeous journey of a video. It's one of those "shame this isn't in special effects" videos, but it's immersive and beautiful world is bursting with artistic merit. Please enjoy!
Fun
I was in a severely depressed this round of POE and this video was so fun I cried cause I wasn't able to feel the joy I saw in these creatures. Not the best words of recommendation, but I cannot express how much delight and whimsy is contained in these little packages! I definitely feel it now and I adore it so much.

We love a sunny afternoon spent playing and this video is a pure expression of that exploration and curiousity. Let its simple blanket of calm remind you of better days.

Sandalwoodbox has an uphill battle against all of our local favorites, but I cannot express how much I enjoy their quick pace and stunning scene choice in this video. It sells the frenzied pace of this love story so well and it's a fun ride that I think should be appreciated.
Multisource
Going off of the purest definition of "best use of multiple sources" I would have to pick Medusa for utilizing all of the tools in its box to sell the concept and storyline. Sinister and compelling in every moment.
Romance
The cutest video this year. I cannot bear to watch it gives me such a feeling.
Rhythm
I have so much affection for the timelessness of this video - the dedication to using anime throughout the ages makes me feel like I'm in an endless night out and everything will be ok. What a fantastic time.

You have to see the colors and animation and flow of this wonderful manga video. Absolute gem and a wonderous show of care and craft from this creator, while still remaining light and entertaining.
Special Effects
Ninja's animation and compositing skills really shine in this fight animation. The use of perspective and movement is just mindblowing.
Trailer
Picture perfect scene selection, comedic timing, inspired casting, and bespoke graphics. What more can we want from a trailer?

It's always a difficult job balancing complexity and clarity when it comes to storytelling in amvs, but Jazz never seems to falter when it comes to the narrative here. Its ability to integrate these two shows so well for such a twisted affair makes it a strong contender for Special Effects, Multi-Source, and Thriller; however, I want to highlight the specificity in which Jazz is able to communicate the story beats. The fact we can pinpoint each of our protagonist's decisions, from victim blaming her friend to seeking revenge in the end, shows a level of commitment to detail you won't find in many other vids.
